Free Net Worth Calculator
Add your assets and debts and get your net worth in about 2 minutes. Nothing is stored, nothing leaves your browser, and no account or email is required. This is the same "assets minus liabilities" math the Violet Codex desktop dashboard runs every day — broken out as a free tool so you can get your number right now.
What counts as an asset
- Checking & Savings — all bank accounts combined
- Emergency Fund — your separate savings buffer
- Brokerage / Investments — stocks, ETFs, mutual funds
- Retirement Accounts — 401(k), IRA, Roth IRA, pension
- Real Estate Equity — home value minus what you owe
- Vehicles — current market value of all vehicles
- Cryptocurrency — BTC, ETH, and other crypto
- Other Assets — collectibles, business equity, and anything else with resale value
What counts as a liability
- Mortgage Balance — remaining principal only
- Student Loans — federal and private combined
- Auto Loans — all vehicle financing
- Credit Card Debt — balances carried month to month
- Other Debt — personal loans, medical debt, and the rest
Why net worth is the number that matters
Income tells you how fast money arrives. Net worth tells you whether any of it stays. Someone earning $120k with $400k in debt has a negative net worth; someone earning $50k with no debt and $60k invested is in a stronger long-term position. Net worth is the only number that accounts for everything at once — which is why it's the first metric on the Violet Codex dashboard.
What to do with your number
The calculator also gives you a stage-based insight — from Starting Point (negative net worth) through Financially Strong — with a suggested next focus for each stage: eliminating high-interest debt, building an emergency fund, maximizing tax-advantaged accounts, or watching allocation drift.
A snapshot is a start. Watching the number move month over month is what changes behavior. Violet Codex tracks net worth over time — assets, debts, investments, and retirement in one encrypted dashboard on your Windows PC. One-time $67 license, no subscriptions, no bank logins.
